Get your Exito tracking script

First go through the Exito onboarding to get your unique tracking script with your store ID.

Go to onboarding →

Your script will look like this:

Open your Shopify admin

Log in to your Shopify store admin panel.

Go to Online Store → Themes

In your Shopify admin left sidebar click Online Store then click Themes.

Click Edit code on your current theme

Find your current active theme. Click the three dots menu (...) next to it. Then click Edit code.

⚠️

Make sure you are editing your current live theme — not a draft theme.

Open theme.liquid

In the code editor left sidebar find the Layout folder. Click on theme.liquid to open it.

Find the closing body tag and paste your script

Press Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on Mac) and search for </body>. Paste your Exito script tag on the line just before it.

Click Save — you are done!

Click the Save button in the top right corner of the code editor. Exito is now live on your store.

Exito will start tracking your visitors immediately after saving.

Verify it is working

1.Visit your own Shopify store in a new browser tab
2.Browse a few products — scroll up and down
3.Move your mouse off the top of the screen — the feedback popup should appear
4.Submit the popup feedback
5.Go to your Exito dashboard and refresh — you should see your session appear

Common questions

Will this slow down my Shopify store?

No. The Exito script is under 5kb and loads asynchronously — meaning it does not block your page from loading. Your store speed will not be affected.

Does this work on all Shopify themes?

Yes. Exito works on any Shopify theme that uses the standard theme.liquid file — which is all themes from the Shopify theme store and most custom themes.

What if I cannot find theme.liquid?

Some newer Shopify themes use a different structure. Look for a file called layout/theme.liquid or contact us at getexito.com and we will help you install it.

Will my customers see the popup?

Yes — that is the point. When a customer tries to leave your store the popup asks why. Their feedback is what Exito uses to generate your weekly report.

How do I see my data?

Go to getexito.com/dashboard to see your live sessions, AI drop-off analysis, and weekly reports.
